Almost 50 promises for 6 current metro mayors

The mayors of South Africa’s most populous cities have together made at least 47 promises less than five months into the new term.

The latest additions to our database are commitments Ekurhuleni mayor Tania Campbell made during the state of the city address on Wednesday (30 March).

These include promises to ensure “reliable as well as expanded electricity supply” during the five-year term, which ends in 2026, and to build nine water towers and reservoirs by June 2023.
