60 new promises since the 2021 election – and counting

The mayors of South Africa’s six most populous metros have made at least sixty promises in the current term of office.

Most of their promises have been about electricity (10), followed by water (8), housing and homelessness (5), infrastructure (5) and safety and security (4).

All in all, there are 235 promises in our database, which also covers the previous term.
