Anti-corruption hotline launched within Athol Trollip’s first 100 days

Promise outcome: Kept

Mayor Athol Trollip launched the anti-corruption hotline on 27 October 2016.

By December of that year, the line had resulted in 38 internal investigations in Nelson Mandela Bay, he said in a statement about his first 100 days in office.

In the metro’s annual report, the city manager listed the development of the hotline as one of the “key initiatives and highlights” for the 2016/17 financial year.

The promise was fulfilled by the deadline (see ‘Promise due dates explained’) and we, therefore, rate it as kept.
